AI and software systems

AI and software systems that do a real job

We design and build software and AI systems for organisations that need something built, connected, automated or fixed. We start with the job the system has to do, and we say what we will deliver before work starts.

Every build has a fixed written quote, agreed before any work starts, with staged milestones so you can see progress and stop if you need to.

What changes for you

  • Remove repetitive work

The re-keying, the copying between systems, the weekly report someone assembles by hand. We automate the parts that follow rules and leave people the parts that need judgement.

  • Connect fragmented information

When the answer lives in three systems and a shared drive, nobody has it. We bring your information together so staff can find it, ask questions of it and trust what comes back.

  • Make decisions traceable

A decision that matters should show what it was based on, who made it and when. We build systems that keep that record without adding work.

  • Rescue a difficult build

A project that stalled, a supplier who left, or a system nobody can safely change. We assess what is there, tell you plainly what it would take, and get it moving again.

  • Turn an idea into a working product

From a clear description to something people can use. We build a first version that proves the idea, then grow it in stages as it earns its keep.

What we build

The outcomes above rest on a set of capabilities we use every day on our own products and on client work.

  • AI architecture: the design of an AI system that fits your organisation, your data and the rules you work under.
  • Custom applications: web applications, internal tools and portals, built to be accessible from the first screen.
  • Data and decision systems: bringing data together, keeping it clean and making it useful for the people who decide.
  • Knowledge tools that answer questions from your own documents, with the source shown, so staff can check the answer.
  • Integrations and APIs that connect the systems you already have, so information is entered once.
  • Automation of routine work, with a person kept in control of anything that matters.
  • AI avatars and assistants that welcome visitors and answer common questions from your own information.
  • Responsible deployment: privacy, access control, logging and a clear answer to “what does this system do with our data?”

Our own products, including Savanax, aXread, the Context Scanner and the Decision Bus, are built this way. They are the evidence behind this page.

Three ways to start

  • A paid discovery and scoping session

We work through the problem with you, look at what you have, and give you a written scope: what to build, in what order, and what it would cost. You keep the scope whether or not you build with us.

  • A defined prototype or technical rescue

A fixed piece of work with a clear finish line: a working prototype that proves an idea, or a rescue that gets a stuck system stable and understood.

  • A custom build with staged milestones

The full system, delivered in stages you sign off one at a time. Each stage is something you can use, and each is quoted in writing before it starts.

What you get on every project

  • AI that supports the people who hold judgement, accountability and professional expertise, with each of those staying with a person.
  • A written scope and estimates you can check, with every figure backed by something we can show you.
  • A system your own team can maintain: the code, the documentation and a plain explanation of how it works.
  • Your data kept where you agreed it would be, written into the scope.
  • Every step an AI agent takes on your project signed off by a person and recorded through the Decision Bus.

Why aXai

aXai is a disability-led AI, software and accessibility company. We build AI systems, software, and concepts and prototypes ready to scale, and we deliver them through AI-supported work: skilled people with disability in real, properly paid roles, working to clear quality standards, with AI removing the barriers and people keeping the accountability.

Every project runs on our own infrastructure, the Decision Bus and Project Layer, so each step is planned, signed off by a person and on the record. That is our operating advantage. Read how it works.

Software and AI projects are where many of those roles begin: testing, content and data work, review against clear checklists, and evaluation of whether an AI answer is useful and understandable. Read about AI-supported work.

Questions

How much does a build cost?

A discovery session gives you a written scope and estimate, and every stage is quoted in writing before it starts, so you know the cost before we begin.

Can you work with the systems we already have?

Usually, yes. Connecting existing systems is a large part of what we do. We look at what you have during discovery and tell you what is practical.

Who owns the code?

You do. You get the code, documentation and a plain explanation of how the system works, so another team could maintain it.

Can you take over a project another developer started?

Yes. A technical rescue starts with an assessment of what is there, then a written plan and quote for making it stable and moving it forward.

Discuss a project

Tell us what you need built, connected, automated or fixed. We will reply by email with the next step, usually a discovery session. Prefer to talk first? Contact us.
