Disability Services Exchange (DSX)
DSX is an NDIS provider discovery platform built in partnership with DisabilityX. It exists because participants deserve transparent, accessible information about the providers they're considering—not marketing copy and hidden compliance histories.
The Problem We're Solving
Finding an NDIS provider shouldn't require a research degree. But the current landscape is fragmented: the NDIA's provider finder shows registration status and not much else. Third-party directories prioritise paid listings. Reviews are scattered across platforms or nonexistent.
Participants—especially those with cognitive disabilities or communication differences—are expected to navigate this maze with limited support. The information asymmetry favours providers, not the people who need services.
DSX inverts this. Transparency is the default. Participant needs drive the design.
Platform Features
Built for participants first, with provider tools that reward transparency.
Provider Discovery
Search and filter NDIS providers by location, service type, and specialisation. Every provider listing includes verification status, service details, and direct contact options.
Transparency by Default
Provider compliance history, registration status, and service areas are visible to participants. No hidden information. No gatekeeping.
Three-Tier Verification
DSX Members (premium), Verified Providers (claimed listings), and NDIA-sourced data. Clear badges show exactly what level of verification each provider has.
Community Benchmarking
Aggregate participant feedback creates sector-wide benchmarks. Providers see how they compare. Participants see what "good" looks like.
DSX Assistant
The DSX Assistant is an AI-powered guide built into the platform. It helps participants understand provider information, compare options, and navigate NDIS terminology—without requiring them to already know how the system works.
The assistant includes an Easy Read mode that transforms complex provider information into plain language with visual supports. This isn't a dumbed-down version—it's a different cognitive pathway to the same information.
Easy Read mode uses the same AI architecture as aXread, our accessibility overlay system. Pre-generated content means instant response times. No waiting for AI to process each request.

A Partnership, Not a Product
DSX was built by Annette (aXai) and Axel (DisabilityX) together. The technical architecture comes from aXai. The lived experience perspective comes from Axel and the DisabilityX community.
This isn't disability tech built for disabled people. It's disability tech built with disabled people—including those with intellectual disabilities who are usually consulted last, if at all.
