Use case

A contractor induction video for your site

The job: every contractor gets the same clear induction before they start work, without someone on your team repeating it each time.

What it costs: a training video of up to 8 minutes is $275 including GST.

The problem this solves

Contractor inductions are often done in a hurry, by whoever is available, from memory. Two contractors on the same job can hear two different versions. When something goes wrong, it is hard to show what each person was told.

A contractor induction video fixes the consistency problem. Every contractor sees the same information, in the same order, and can watch it before they arrive. Your supervisor’s time goes into the site walk and the questions, not into reciting the rules.

What you get

Training video: Up to 8 minutes. Staff induction or training, in up to seven scenes. Every video includes:

  • An AI avatar presenter chosen with you
  • Script written for you from your material
  • Your logo, colours and fonts throughout
  • Captions on every video
  • Formats for phone and widescreen
  • A round of changes before you sign off

You can use the video on your website, in your induction or training system, and anywhere else agreed in your quote.

A simple outline in seven scenes

You decide what your induction covers. If you are starting from a blank page, this outline works for many workplaces:

  • Welcome: who you are and what you expect of contractors.
  • Before you arrive: paperwork, licences and insurance you need to show.
  • Getting on site: access, parking, sign-in and sign-out.
  • Hazards: the main risks in this workplace and the controls in place.
  • Rules: protective equipment, permits, restricted areas and behaviour.
  • Emergencies: alarms, exits, the assembly point and first aid.
  • Reporting: how to report a hazard or incident, and who to call.

If you have more than one site, keep the company-wide rules in one video and make a short site video for each location. Then a change at one site means changing one short video.

What we need from you

  • Your current contractor induction, in whatever form it takes: a handbook, a checklist, slides or notes.
  • Your logo and colours.
  • Anything that must be said word for word.
  • Your deadline.

You approve the script before the video is finished, so the content is exactly what you want contractors told.

Questions

Is a video enough for a contractor induction?

A video gives consistent information, and sits alongside your site walk, your supervision and your duties under work health and safety law. What your induction must cover is your decision.

What if our induction is longer than 8 minutes?

Split it into shorter videos on one topic each. They are easier to watch and easier to update. A set of ten or more videos has a fixed quote.

Can we record who has watched it?

We supply the video. Recording who has watched it is done by the system you play it in, such as your induction or sign-in system.

What happens when our rules change?

We update just the parts that change, at the same prices.

How long does it take?

Tell us your deadline when you get in touch and we will confirm the timing in your quote.
