AI for disability employment services

AI for disability employment services

Employment consultants and job coaches in DES providers, Australian Disability Enterprises and SLES programs spend their days between participants, employers and program paperwork. We build systems that take on the matching, the drafting and the follow-up, so consultants spend more time with the people they are placing. We design our own roles around AI-supported work, so we understand the job-design side of this work from the inside.

What AI can take on in an employment service

  • Job matching with reasons shown

A participant’s stated strengths, preferences, adjustments and travel matched against your own vacancies, with the reasons for each match shown, so the consultant discusses real options and makes the call.

  • Application tools participants use themselves

Resumes, cover letters and interview preparation that a participant works on directly, in plain language or Easy Read, with a coach beside them and the participant’s own words kept.

  • Employer information and adjustment guides

Workplace adjustment guides, job-design suggestions and onboarding information drafted for an employer, for the consultant to tailor to the workplace and the person.

  • Case notes and program documentation

Case notes, progress records and the documentation your program requires drafted from the consultant’s account, in the structure the program expects, for the consultant to check and sign.

  • Job descriptions and inductions in accessible formats

Job descriptions, workplace inductions and rights information in Easy Read, audio and video, produced from the employer’s material and checked before a participant sees them.

  • Reminders and post-placement follow-up

Appointments, placement milestones and post-placement check-ins tracked automatically, with the consultant told what is due and nothing sent without them.

What stays with people

  • Decisions about a participant, and every conversation with a participant or employer, stay with the consultant.
  • Claims, evidence and reports to the department are checked and submitted by a person.
  • Advice about a participant’s entitlements and rights stays with the consultant, an advocate or a lawyer.
  • Participant information goes only where you have agreed it can go.

A draft is a draft until someone who knows the work has read it and signed it off. Every system we build waits for a person before anything is sent, submitted or decided.

On request we review the exact content against the NDIS Practice Standards and state the scope of that review in writing.

What we can build for you

  • A job-matching assistant that works from your own vacancies and your own participant records.
  • Application and interview tools designed with the participants who will use them.
  • A case documentation tool with your program’s structure and sign-off built in.
  • Accessible induction and rights content for the employers you place with.

How we design skilled, paid roles in our own work, and how organisations can partner with us on that, is on AI-supported work. Organisations that also deliver NDIS supports will find the wider provider picture on AI for NDIS and disability providers.

How to start

  • A discovery session at $220 an hour inc GST: we work through one task with you, look at what you already have, and give you a written scope. You keep the scope whether or not you build with us.
  • A defined prototype: one task, working in your setting, with a clear finish line and a fixed written quote, agreed before any work starts.
  • A custom build in staged milestones, each quoted in writing before it starts, so you can stop at any stage and still have something you can use.

Why aXai

aXai is a disability-led AI, software and accessibility company. We build AI systems, software, and concepts and prototypes ready to scale, and we deliver them through AI-supported work: skilled people with disability in real, properly paid roles, working to clear quality standards, with AI removing the barriers and people keeping the accountability.

Every project runs on our own infrastructure, the Decision Bus and Project Layer, so each step is planned, signed off by a person and on the record. That is our operating advantage. Read how it works.

Tell us the task

Describe one task in your own words, without any client, participant or patient details. We will reply by email with the next step, usually a discovery session. Prefer to talk first? Contact us.
