AI mentoring: register your interest
The AI mentoring program is for people with disability who want to learn to use AI for goals they choose, with a mentor beside them who has lived experience.
It opens once our NDIS registration is approved (currently applied for, with the application in progress). Register your interest here and we will tell you as soon as places open. The full description is on the AI mentoring page.
What the program is meant to be
In plain terms: a person picks a goal that matters to them, tries AI tools on a real task with a mentor, checks what the tools made, and decides what to keep. The person stays in control. Some people choose to take a skill towards paid work, with any employer; that is the person’s decision and separate from the program.
The program is designed in stages. Each stage has a goal and a decision point where the person, and the people who support them, decide whether to continue, change or stop.
| Stage | What you work towards | What we decide together |
|---|---|---|
| 0. Getting started | You choose one goal that matters to you and a first task. You choose how you like to communicate, and who supports you. You agree to what we record. | Together we decide if the program is right for you, or if something else would suit you better. |
| 1. Your own tools | You use the tools you pick for one task that matters to you, with help when you want it. | Which tools fit you, and what gets in the way. |
| 2. Directing the AI | You start a task with AI, check what it made, and fix it when it is wrong. | Keep going, change the plan, or stop. |
| 3. A skill you can rely on | You repeat a useful task to an agreed standard, with a support plan, for your own goal. | Some people choose to take a skill towards paid work, with any employer; that is the person’s decision and separate from the program. |

What is true today
- The program is designed and we are preparing to deliver it.
- Our NDIS registration is applied for, with the application in progress; the program opens as a registered support once it is approved.
- Pricing and the service agreement are published when the program opens.
- Whether a plan can fund the program is a question for when the program opens, and it depends on the person’s plan and how it is managed; we go through it with each person first.
- Registering your interest puts you on the list we contact first when places open.
Registering interest
If you, or someone you support, would like to hear when the program becomes available, use the form below. Tell us your name, your email, and in a line or two what you are interested in.
- When places open we contact everyone who registered, in order, and confirm eligibility with you before anything starts.
- Your name, email and interest are all we need to tell you when something changes, so please leave health, disability or NDIS plan details out.
- A support person, family member or coordinator can register interest on someone’s behalf with their agreement.
- We will email you when there is something real to say, and only then.
Why aXai
aXai is a disability-led AI, software and accessibility company. We build AI systems, software, and concepts and prototypes ready to scale, and we deliver them through AI-supported work: skilled people with disability in real, properly paid roles, working to clear quality standards, with AI removing the barriers and people keeping the accountability.
Every project runs on our own infrastructure, the Decision Bus and Project Layer, so each step is planned, signed off by a person and on the record. That is our operating advantage. Read how it works.
The mentoring program is the participant-facing side of that model. It is kept separate from our commercial work, and its status here is its real status. See AI-supported work and programs.
Questions
When will the program start?
It starts when registration is approved and the service agreement, pricing, insurance and safeguards are in place. Registering interest is the way to hear the date as soon as it is set.
Can I use my NDIS plan for it?
Once the program opens, that depends on your plan and how it is managed. We will go through it with you first, so you know before you start.
Is it only for people who want to work?
The goal is the person’s own. Some people choose to take a skill towards paid work, with any employer; others choose a different goal, and each person decides. Either way it is separate from the program.
Who can register interest?
Anyone: a person with disability, a family member, a support coordinator or a provider. Registering someone else’s interest needs their agreement.
