One decision record for every AI tool you use
Planned at aXai: other AI tools connecting to the Decision Bus and Document Layer through the Model Context Protocol, so a client's own assistants can work inside our governed pipeline.
The problem
Most organisations already use several AI tools: one in the office suite, one in the code editor, one in a chat window. Each has its own way of asking permission, if it asks at all, and its own memory of what it did. Governance that lives in only one of them is governance of a fraction of the work.
The Decision Bus and the Document Layer solve this for the agents we run. MCP connectivity extends the same inbox and the same document record to the tools a client already uses.
What it will do
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets an AI tool discover and call outside systems in a consistent way. MCP connectivity exposes the Bus and the Document Layer through it, so any tool speaking the protocol can route a decision to the inbox, wait for a person's answer, and write a document change to the governed store.
For a client, that means the assistant in their office suite and the assistant in their code editor hand their decisions and their document changes to one record: the same record our own agents use, with the same sign-off by a person.
The design
Opening the Bus to outside tools raises a question the closed version did not have to answer: how does the inbox know who is asking? A tool that can put requests on the Bus can also flood it, or dress up a risky action as a routine one. The design covers identity, limits and plain descriptions, so that a person reading a request from an unfamiliar tool can still judge it in a few seconds.
What we can show today
The Bus and the Project Layer working on our own AI delivery, and the Document Layer prototype on synthetic material. If your organisation wants its AI tools to share one decision record, we would like to hear about it: it shapes what we build first.
What you can buy from this now
Today, the systems we build keep their decisions in the Bus. If your organisation wants its other AI tools to share that one record, we would like to hear about it.
Find it under AI and software systems.
Why aXai
aXai is a disability-led AI, software and accessibility company. We build AI systems, software, and concepts and prototypes ready to scale, and we deliver them through AI-supported work: skilled people with disability in real, properly paid roles, working to clear quality standards, with AI removing the barriers and people keeping the accountability.
Every project runs on our own infrastructure, the Decision Bus and Project Layer, so each step is planned, signed off by a person and on the record. That is our operating advantage. Read how it works.
