Accessibility audits

WCAG accessibility audits with a signed report

We audit your website, app or documents against WCAG 2.2 and give you a written report, signed by our founder, who holds a Diploma of Access Consulting, that tells you what is wrong, who it affects and what to fix first.

Every audit has a fixed written quote, agreed before any work starts.

What you get

  • A signed report

A written report signed by our founder, who holds a Diploma of Access Consulting. You can give it to your board, your funder, your web developer or a tender panel.

  • Every issue explained

For each issue: where it is, which WCAG 2.2 success criterion it relates to, who it shuts out, and what needs to change.

  • A fix-first list

Issues are put in order, in plain language, so your team knows which barriers stop people completely and which can wait.

What we can audit

  • Websites: your main page types and the journeys people most need to finish, such as finding a service, filling in a form or paying.
  • Apps, including sign-in and account screens.
  • Documents you publish, such as PDFs, forms and reports.

You choose the scope. A small site can be audited in full. For a large site we agree on a set of page types and journeys that stands for the rest, and the report says exactly what was covered.

WCAG 2.2 in brief

WCAG stands for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Version 2.2 is the current version. It has three levels: A, AA and AAA. Level AA is the level commonly named in policies and tenders, so that is what we audit against unless you ask for something different.

Version 2.2 added checks for things like keeping keyboard focus in view, making buttons and links big enough to press, and letting people sign in without a memory test.

In Australia, WCAG is the standard that guidance on the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 points to for websites and digital services. The report is an accessibility assessment signed by our founder, who holds a Diploma of Access Consulting.

What an audit costs

A WCAG audit cost depends on the size of the job. Your quote will depend on:

  • how many different page types or screens are in scope
  • how many journeys involve forms, sign-in or payment
  • whether documents or an app are included
  • whether you want a second check after your team has made fixes.

Send us your web address and what the report is for. We reply with a fixed written quote that sets out the scope and the price.

Why aXai

aXai is a disability-led AI, software and accessibility company. We build AI systems, software, and concepts and prototypes ready to scale, and we deliver them through AI-supported work: skilled people with disability in real, properly paid roles, working to clear quality standards, with AI removing the barriers and people keeping the accountability.

Every project runs on our own infrastructure, the Decision Bus and Project Layer, so each step is planned, signed off by a person and on the record. That is our operating advantage. Read how it works.

Accessibility is our core work. aXai is neurodivergent-led, and we design for access in everything we build. If you want the fixes done as well, see custom accessible tools and software.

Questions

Will the audit make our website compliant?

An audit tells you where your site falls short of WCAG 2.2 and what to change, and the site improves when the fixes are made. We give you the findings and the fixes.

Who signs the report?

Every report is signed by our founder, who holds a Diploma of Access Consulting.

Can you fix the problems you find?

Yes, as separate work with its own fixed written quote. You can also hand the report to your own developer.

We have an overlay widget. Do we still need an audit?

An audit tells you what is wrong with your site, which an overlay widget leaves unanswered. We explain the difference on our audit versus overlay page.

How long does an audit take?

It depends on the scope. Tell us your deadline when you get in touch and we confirm the timing in your quote.

Do you need access to private data?

A test account with made-up details is all we need for any sign-in areas, so private information about clients or staff stays with you.
