What an AI assistant should have read first
AI coding assistants start every session knowing nothing about your project: its structure, its conventions, or the rules it has to meet. Context Scanner reads the codebase and writes a set of plain summaries the assistant loads at the start of a session — including a list of gaps against Australian accessibility, privacy, security and AI-governance expectations.
What is built
The tool
A command-line program in TypeScript. It walks a repository, parses the source, and writes nine documents: architecture, API reference, data models, validation rules, conventions, compliance, integration map, component analysis and status.
15,754 lines · 29 filesEight compliance categories
LLM security against the OWASP LLM Top 10, data sovereignty, exposed secrets, a bug registry, hardcoded configuration, database migrations, regression anchors and dependency licences. Accessibility findings cite the WCAG success criterion by number.
checked every runRun on this codebase
Nothing critical, 32 high and 425 medium. Most of the medium findings are one pattern repeated — a URL written into the source rather than configuration — which is what a deterministic checker is good at: the same rule, everywhere, every time.
457 findings · 18 Oct 2026It is parsing, not generation
Context Scanner holds no model and makes no network call to one. Its entire dependency list is a TypeScript parser and some type definitions. The results are therefore repeatable: run it twice on the same code and the findings are identical, which is what makes it safe to put in front of a compliance conversation.
The model providers written into its own source are patterns it searches for in your code, so it can tell you where a model is being called and whether that call is guarded.
What you can buy from it
A scan of your codebase with a written summary of what it found, or the tool set up inside your own team. It is also what every AI session on aXai’s own work starts by reading. Begin at a first conversation.
